The Station Story
The Station was born out of love of family, community and genuine hospitality.
The Johnson / Kennedy family owned and operated the beloved Evans Street Station in this location for almost 20 years. In 2020, the pandemic drove life changes for many. After closing for a year, we knew the heart was still here, and were moved to reopen a casual and welcoming gathering space for our community to enjoy. And a new incarnation came to be!
At The Station, we serve popular, moderately priced food that’s still a cut above the rest, in a friendly, easy-going atmosphere.
In a building that has served this community for generations as Tecumseh’s former fire house, The Station is a neighborhood home-base, rounding out the Tecumseh experience in the downtown district. Local flavor and community stewardship have always been at the core of our culinary and business philosophies. We serve an authentic American menu of tasty, bold flavored foods in a comfortable setting, with hopes that you’ll feel right at home with us.
We offer a selection of wines from around the world with a focus on small producers, a rotating list of artisan beers with a celebration of Michigan’s best, and handcrafted cocktails created by our inventive team.
The Station conveniently accepts reservations but also welcomes walk-ins for those of you who like to live spontaneously. Please be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay up to date on all the good fun we have in store for you!

The Bar
We’ve always been known for interesting cocktails. Embracing that tradition, The Station features an array of unique drinks, including classic cocktails with a twist, seasonal spins on house infused liquors, wines by the glass or bottle, and a fun selection of interesting beers!
